Our Story
Fast approaching its fourth year, Belltown's Marjorie, is a welcome respite from the ordinary. Hailed for its funky elegance and eclecticism, marjorie has earned a devoted following for its delicious food, warm and professional service and inviting atmosphere. Owner Donna Moodie, whose previous restaurants include Marco's Supperclub and Lush Life officially opened marjorie on January 17th, 2003.
The restaurant was named in homage of her mother, whose love of cooking and entertaining inspired her daughter from an early age.
The former Lush Life space was gutted and designed to create a feeling of warmth and intimacy. The bold and colorful jewel tones of the interior create a feeling of sundrenched comfort. The noise level has been ingeniously reduced with the introduction of ceiling panels wrapped in richly colorful raw silk. The bar has been moved to the front of the space, and is contained by the dynamic metal work of artist Carla Grahn. A well rounded and inspiring collection of music can be heard nightly. The bold and eclectic interior are perfectly paired with Chef Christensen's innovative and spectacular menu which garners inspiration from every corner of the world.
